Okie, as we think of Australia, the very first impressions on my mind are a no-nonsense "lets get on with it" attitude of the Australian people. So a lot of corners are cut both with what they say and how they say it.
But unfortunately this time around, they have pushed that infamous "Aussitude" a bit further than expected.
Literally washing Pawar off the stage , or with Ponting beckoning Pawar with a finger to give away the trophy boiled my blood to no end.
And hey ,before you conclude that it is because I am an Indian too , let me put this thing straight. It has nothing to do with my patriotism. It is simply my classy upbringing which ridicules this sort of behavior.
Come on, Pawar is no miniscule pauper on the roadside. He is an old man, who has seen and lived through so many autumns to see this one.In his own way he is a well-read persona with a huge fan following, and lots of shine from his hey-days adds to the man's aura.
In their very own Aussi language , there is only one term for people like Ponting, and that is a "drongo"
Decrypt that one....
