It may not be too unpredictable considering her recent statements on the campaign launched by the opposition against her.She may have been selected because she was the quietest and the most harmless bait at the moment.She could also have been the chosen one because the ruling party was just not yet over with the loss they have suffered when in a foolish move of politics they agreed to install a Muslim as India's president in the form of Kalam.
They will however find it difficult to rise above the man and his cult. He has sown into the minds of the young turks of India a formidable attitude.It is an entirely new generation out there which is absolutely besotted with APJ.The man was a Rockstar to some and a Scientist to another.Not more not less.He has effortlessly managed to ignite the passion for rising above odds in the urban middle class.The middle-class or the general population in India has always born the brunt of economy,power and crisis.But to see one of their own rising above these hackles and seating himself in the highest echelons of the power has raised the bar of achievable dreams.
Alas, as the country is battling with one Rubber Stamp persona as a Prime Minister, here comes another.All in the name of installing harmless candidates in the highest places of power so that they ease the tasks(corruption) of ones below them.
I can still recall the day when it was almost decided that Manmohan Singh, the Finance whiz would be our Prime-Minister.It was a dream come true for many educated people like me to see someone so Intellectually gifted to be the Leader of our country.However the euphoria was shortlived.As we see him today, he has turned into a mere pawn in the hands of the power which lies elsewhere.He can be easily compared to the puppet President which Indira Gandhi gifted to India way back.The dynasty's enigma has managed to destroy whatever high regards the man had once commanded.
We are once again set to witness a repeat of History.However, this time as a President we not only get a Rubber Stamp but also someone who has a completely tarnished image before she takes the Oath.
Only God would know, how many more skeletons will tumble out, if Pandora's Box is jingled yet again
